Job summary

The American Red Cross is actively seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services within the Supply Chain unit. This is a virtual role open to candidates located anywhere in the United States, reporting to the Director of Supply Management.

You will drive category strategy, lead sourcing events, negotiate supplier agreements, and partner with cross-functional teams to optimize cost, service, and risk. Required are a Bachelor's degree in supply management or related field and at least 7 years of

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in supply management or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience; experience managing third-party spend in a large organization preferred.
• Professional certification(s) preferred (C.P.M., CPSM, CIRM, CPIM, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develop category strategies for logistics services including transportation, fleet, couriers, and related services.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy through market assessment and supplier selection.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable terms while managing risk.
• Analyze spend, market conditions, and business requirements to deliver cost, service, and performance improvements.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Risk, and other stakeholders to evaluate alternatives and build business cases.
• Define KPIs and governance for supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain category governance, documentation, and timely reporting on activities and outcomes.
• Support internal clients and cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of sourcing initiatives.
