Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks a Category Manager, Logistics Services in the Supply Chain Business Unit. This is a virtual position that can be located anywhere in the United States, reporting to the Director of Supply Management.

Lead sourcing, negotiate terms, manage supplier performance, and drive cost and service improvements across transportation, fleet, couriers, and related logistics services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience; experience managing third-party spend in a large organization preferred.
• Professional certifications such as C.P.M., CPSM, CIRM, CPIM, etc. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute category strategies for assigned logistics services based on requirements, spend, and market data.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy development through supplier evaluation and contracting.
• Develop negotiation strategies for contracts and pricing to secure favorable terms and minimize risk.
• Analyze procurement spend and drive opportunities to improve total cost, service, and performance.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Risk, and analytics teams to evaluate alternatives and build business cases.
• Define KPIs, service levels, and governance for supplier performance and risk.
• Collaborate with internal clients and stakeholders to implement sourcing and supplier-management initiatives.
• Maintain documentation and provide timely reporting on strategies and performance.
