Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services within the Supply Chain Business Unit. This is a virtual position and can be located anywhere in the United States, partnering with internal clients, Supply Management colleagues, cross-functional teams, and suppliers to develop category strategies and lead sourcing and negotiations.

The role leads complex sourcing, analyzes spend, market conditions and business needs, and drives measurable improvements in cost, service,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Professional certification (C.P.M., CPSM, CIRM, CPIM, etc.) preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience.
• Experience managing third-party spend within a large organization preferred.
• Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for assigned logistics services.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy through market assessment and supplier selection.
• Develop strategies and lead negotiations for contracts and pricing.
• Analyze procurement spend and identify opportunities to improve cost, service, and risk.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Risk, Analytics to develop business cases.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers, define KPIs and governance.
• Partner with internal clients and cross-functional stakeholders for successful implementation.
• Maintain category governance and reporting.
