Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services for a virtual role that can be located anywhere in the United States. You will lead sourcing, negotiations, and supplier management for transportation, fleet, couriers, and related logistics services.

You will work with internal clients and Supply Management colleagues to develop category strategies, analyze spend, and deliver measurable improvements in cost, service, and risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience; experience managing third‑party spend.
• Professional certification such as C.P.M., CPSM, CIRM, CPIM, preferred.
• Some travel to suppliers or internal sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute category strategies for logistics services.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy to contracting and implementation.
• Develop negotiations for contracts and pricing while managing risk.
• Analyze procurement spend and drive cost, service, efficiency and risk improvements.
• Analyze spend, market conditions, and business requirements to support decisions.
• Define KPIs and govern supplier performance and relationships.
• Partner with internal clients and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Maintain category governance and timely reporting on activities.
