Job summary

American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services within the Supply Chain unit. This virtual position can be located anywhere in the United States. You will develop category strategies, lead complex sourcing, and manage supplier performance across transportation, fleet, and courier services.

Required 7+ years in procurement, a Bachelor’s in Supply Management, and strong leadership. Travel may be required; certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field; Master's preferred.
• 7+ years of related experience; experience managing third‑party spend in a large org preferred.
• Professional certification (e.g., C.P.M., CPSM, CIRM, CPIM) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute category strategies for assigned logistics services.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy through market assessment and supplier evaluation.
• Develop strategies and lead negotiations for contracts and pricing; manage risk and ensure compliance.
• Analyze procurement spend and identify opportunities to improve total cost, service, and performance.
• Analyze spend, market conditions, and business requirements; support fact-based sourcing decisions.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers; define KPIs and governance; monitor performance and drive improvements.
• Partner with internal clients and stakeholders to implement sourcing initiatives.
• Maintain documentation and provide timely reporting on strategies, activities, and performance.
