Qualifications

• High school diploma or a combination of education and 2+ directly relevant work experience.
• 2 years of related professional experience
• 2 years of claims experience
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Strong ability to work independently.
• Strong decision making ability.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Basic math and computer skills and ability to type 30 wpm.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills and good command of the English language.
• Ability to function in a team environment.
• Ability to successfully complete training courses pertinent to job duties.
• Developing understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements
• Developing understanding of AAA claims policies and procedures preferred.
• Ability to travel on rare occasions.
• Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned claims with injury exposure identified.
• Handle 1st and 3rd party auto liability cases with exposure under $50,000.
• Work in a virtual environment with option to work in an office setting.
• Communicate in writing, by telephone and by email.
• Investigate, negotiate, and settle claims within settlement authority.
• Assist in catastrophes and simple homeowner losses.
• May handle first party Medical Payment and PIP.
• May represent the insured and/or company at settlement conferences when needed.
• May appear at arbitrations and trials on rare occasions.
