Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking a Remote Case Manager to support patients in the Eastern Time Zone with occasional travel to Alexion sites. The role focuses on onboarding, ongoing treatment coordination, and long-term adherence support within the rare disease journey.

You will engage patients and caregivers, provide disease state education, coordinate training, and ensure compliance while maintaining thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Associates degree at minimum; advanced degree in counseling, social work, nursing, advocacy, or science is a plus.
• 3–5 years of case management or equivalent experience (e.g., nursing, social service support, insurance reimbursement, patient advocacy).
• Working knowledge of insurance coverage and reimbursement processes.
• Familiarity with regulatory components of pharma/biotech industry.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; good data entry/computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial and ongoing patient interactions to integrate therapy into daily life.
• Serve as primary contact for case management and onboarding activities.
• Place Welcome Calls after case creation and coordinate with SP vendor for onboarding.
• Share disease, product, and program education materials with patients.
• Coordinate injection training support and follow-up services (home or virtual).
• Conduct annual BI communications with patients.
• Maintain vigilant documentation of all patient interactions and status.
