Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Remote Certified Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery Coder. You will code inpatient/outpatient hospital records, ED records, and professional services using ICD-9/10 CM and CPT-4, ensuring compliance with UHDDS and CMS guidelines.

The role requires 3–5 years of coding experience and CCS/CCS-P/CPC-H/RHIT/RHIA credentials, with benefits and a dedicated remote work setup in New Mexico.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Must have CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, or RHIT/RHIA with achievement within 1 year of hire.
• Three to five years experience as a coder required.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient and/or outpatient hospital records, ED records, Home Health & Hospice, and/or professional services using ICD-9/10 CM, CPT-4.
• Review patients medical records and assign CPT, ICD and MS-DRG codes for reimbursement and research.
• Access multiple systems to research records and complete coding in a timely manner.
• Resolve pre-bill edits, denials, and generate appropriate queries as needed.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and participate in department trainings.
