Job summary

Ensemble is seeking a Specialized Coder with 3+ years of coding experience and expert knowledge in Cardiology, Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery or Vascular Surgery coding. This remote role will review physician charges, ensure accurate coding, support education, and mentor other coders, with potential travel for education sessions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of coding experience.
• Expert knowledge in Cardiology, Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery or Vascular Surgery coding.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.

Responsibilities

• Code claims directly from the medical record/operative report according to coding guidelines.
• Accurate and timely completion of work queues as assigned.
• Track and identify trends within charge review and follow up work queues and assist leadership in the resolution of those trends and/or educational needs.
• Assist with research of denied claims.
• Maintain compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Achieve individual quality and productivity metrics set by leadership.
• Provide and/or assist with provider education and development of educational tools.
• Communicate professionally with physicians, management, and peers.
• Participate in coding meetings/calls and stay abreast of payer guidelines and coding edits.
