Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a skilled Remote HCC Coder with CRC to join our team. This full-time, remote position is based in New Mexico and offers a competitive hourly wage in a supportive care setting.

Responsibilities include coding inpatient and outpatient records using ICD-9/10-CM and CPT-4, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely documentation. Experience with EMR, encoder, and Microsoft Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have one of the coding certifications at hire: HCS-D, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, CPC or RHIT/RHIA with certification within one year.
• 1–3 years coding experience required.
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient and/or outpatient records (ICD-9/10-CM, CPT-4) for reimbursement and research.
• Abstract data for QI and Joint Commission.
• Resolve pre-bill edits/denials for assigned accounts.
• Stay updated on ICD-9/10-CM, CPT-4, HCPCS, DRG updates; participate in in-services.
