Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in New Mexico is seeking a skilled Remote PRN HCC Coder with CRC to join our team. This is a full-time position based remotely from Santa Fe, NM.

Code inpatient and outpatient hospital records and professional services using ICD-9/10 CM and CPT-4, ensuring 95% accuracy in accordance with UHDDS/CMS guidelines. HS diploma and coding credentials required; 1–3 years experience and proficiency with Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must hold one of the coding credentials at hire (HCS-D, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H or CPC, or RHIT/RHIA).
• 1–3 years coding experience required.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Encoder and EMR experience preferred.
• Internet research skills for coding references.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign CPT/ICD codes for reimbursement and research.
• Abstract data for QA and Joint Commission readiness.
• Generate queries and resolve pre-bill edits/denials.
• Update knowledge of ICD-9/10, CPT-4, HCPCS, DRG guidelines.
