Job summary

Carl Zeiss X-Ray Microscopy LLC is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive opportunities in the North American Academic Life Sciences segment. You’ll shape market development plans, develop compelling content, and enable the sales team to win new business.

The role requires a strategic mindset, strong technical microscopy knowledge, and the ability to build customer relationships across subsectors while aligning with NA Marketing Communications and global teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Life Sciences or related field is required.
• 5+ years in business development, marketing, or sales in microscopy or related fields preferred.
• Strong content development, digital marketing, and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Grow qualified opportunities in North American Academic Life Sciences by subsector and product line.
• Identify and develop new market opportunities, partnerships, and customer use cases.
• Deliver market intelligence: customer insights, trends, competitive analysis, and recommended actions.
• Develop differentiated product positioning, value propositions, and customer-facing content.
• Engage customers and KOLs to expand relationships across priority subsectors.
• Build ZEISS solution ecosystems within Academic Life Sciences networks.
• Assist with budget management and sales enablement initiatives.
• Support opportunities across key subsectors (Cell Biology, Cancer, Developmental Biology, Neuroscience).
• Travel up to 25% regionally/globally may be required.
