Job summary

VaVa Virtual Assistants is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage client financial records as an independent contractor. You will own full bookkeeping cycles, tailor to each client’s accounts, and maintain confidentiality and data security. Regular collaboration with clients and fellow contractors supports a connected remote culture.

The role requires adapting to various client needs, delivering accurate and timely work, and communicating proactively about timelines and scope.

Qualifications

Must reside and be authorized to work in the United States.
At least 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience with direct client accounts.
At least 2 years of full-time remote work experience.
Experience handling multiple clients across industries; running own practice/ freelancing preferred.
Available at least 20 hours per week for high-touch client work.
Strong understanding of GAAP and its application.

Responsibilities

Set up and maintain client accounts in preferred financial software.
Run full bookkeeping cycle including entries, categorization, and reconciliation.
Reconcile monthly bank, credit card, and liability accounts.
Manage month-end close and deliver financial statements.
Process A/P and A/R, issue invoices and follow up on balances.
Record and categorize expenses per client chart of accounts and budget.
