Job summary

BakerHostetler is seeking a Billing Supervisor to lead a team of Billing Coordinators within the Finance/Accounting department. This remote role reports to the Billing and Collections Manager and coordinates firmwide billing for Digital Assets and Data Management.

Responsibilities include supervising daily workflows, coaching staff, ensuring accurate timekeeping and billing due dates, and driving process improvements while maintaining confidentiality in a fast-paced law firm environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from a two-year college and at least seven years of related legal billing experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Elite 3E billing software.
• Ability to manage and supervise staff, coordinate workloads, and handle confidential information.
• Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills; able to work under pressure in a law firm environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level support to Billing Coordinators on billing questions and issues.
• Conduct regular team meetings and communicate firm news to the billing group.
• Coach, provide performance feedback, and conduct reviews for Billing staff.
• Monitor staff schedules, overtime, and timecards in the time management system.
• Lead training and serve as point of contact for secretaries and staff.
• Assist with development and implementation of billing processes and standards.
• Monitor billing status, due dates, and adherence to procedures.
