Job summary

Affirm is seeking a hands-on test automation engineer to own and advance our integration and end-to-end testing frameworks. You’ll design solutions to speed up test runs, stabilize pipelines, and write ADRs and specs in collaboration with software engineers.

In this remote-first role, you’ll work with teams across the US, contribute to our test strategy, and break down projects into actionable tasks. Proactive learning and ownership are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in test automation.
• Proficient in TypeScript and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and Pytest.
• Experience building and optimizing CI pipelines.
• Experience with Docker and AWS.
• Strong background in QA, test design and testing methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including async specs and RFCs.
• Experience building or enhancing test automation frameworks and infrastructure is desirable.
• Mobile, infra and performance test automation experience is a plus.
• Committed to growth and learning new skills.
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Own, improve, and maintain integration and E2E test automation frameworks, along with CI pipelines.
• Design and implement technical solutions to optimize test execution time and enhance stability.
• Write technical specifications and ADRs, collaborate with engineers across the company.
• Support engineering teams by triage requests and sharing QA best practices.
• Contribute to the evolution of the company’s overall test strategy.
• Break down larger projects into tasks and deliver them in phases with the team.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
