Job summary

Affirm is hiring for an experienced test automation engineer to own, improve, and maintain integration and end-to-end test frameworks and CI pipelines. You will design scalable solutions, write ADRs, and collaborate with engineers across the company to raise product quality.

This remote-first role requires on-call rotation and strong expertise in Playwright, Pytest, Docker, and AWS, along with a solid QA background and ownership mindset.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in test automation.
• Proficient in both TypeScript and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and Pytest.
• Experience in building and optimizing CI pipelines.
• Experience with Docker and AWS.
• Strong background in quality assurance, test design, and testing methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with proficiency in async docs and project plans.
• Experience in building or enhancing test automation frameworks and infrastructure is desirable.
• Experience with mobile, infrastructure and performance test automation is a plus.
• You take ownership of your growth and seek feedback.

Responsibilities

• Own, improve, and maintain integration and E2E test automation frameworks and CI pipelines.
• Design and implement solutions to optimize test execution time and stability.
• Write technical specifications and ADRs, and collaborate with engineers across the company.
• Support engineering teams with triage and best practices for QA and test automation.
• Contribute to the evolution of the company’s overall test strategy.
• Break down larger projects into tasks and deliver in multiple phases with timely collaboration.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
