Job summary

Affirm is seeking a highly capable test automation engineer to own and optimize integration and end-to-end testing frameworks, along with CI pipelines. You will design scalable solutions, write ADRs, and collaborate across engineering teams to raise quality standards.

The role emphasizes leading test strategy evolution, phased delivery of complex projects, and participation in an on-call rotation. Strong TS/Python and CI/CD experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in test automation.
• Proficient in TypeScript and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and Pytest.
• Experience in building and optimizing CI pipelines.
• Experience with Docker and AWS.
• Strong background in quality assurance, test design, and testing techniques and methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with proficiency in async docs (tech specs, RFCs, wikis, project plans).
• Experience building or enhancing test automation frameworks and infrastructure is highly desirable.
• Mobile, infrastructure and performance test automation experience is a significant advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own, improve, and maintain integration and end-to-end test automation frameworks and their CI pipelines.
• Design and implement technical solutions to optimize test execution time and stability.
• Write technical specifications and ADRs, contribute to design and collaborate with engineers across the company.
• Support engineering teams by assisting with triage requests and sharing QA best practices.
• Contribute to the evolution of the company’s overall test strategy.
• With guidance, break down larger projects into tasks, deliver in phases, and collaborate for timely delivery.
• This role includes participation in an on-call rotation.
