Job summary

Affirm is seeking a skilled test automation engineer to own and evolve our end-to-end testing, integrating with CI pipelines and cross-team collaboration.

You will design scalable test frameworks using TypeScript and Python, with Playwright, Pytest, Docker, and AWS, while mentoring others and driving quality. This remote-first role emphasizes ownership, continuous learning, and contributing to the overall test strategy across the company.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in test automation.
• Proficient in TypeScript and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and Pytest.
• Experience in building and optimizing CI pipelines.
• Experience with Docker and AWS.
• Strong background in QA, test design, and testing methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with asynchronous docs (specs, RFCs, wikis).
• Ownership mindset and growth mindset with proactive feedback seeking.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own, improve, and maintain integration and E2E test automation frameworks and CI pipelines.
• Design and implement technical solutions to optimize test execution time and stability.
• Write technical specs and ADRs, contribute to solution design, collaborate with engineers.
• Support engineering teams with triage and QA best practices.
• Contribute to the evolution of the company’s test strategy.
• Break down large projects with team leads and deliver in phases.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
