Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking an Outside Auto Appraiser to inspect damaged vehicles, estimate repair costs, and determine actual cash value for timely claim settlements. This remote role involves virtual or on-site inspections at shops or customer locations, with collaboration across claim teams.

You will use industry software to prepare estimates, validate valuations, and negotiate settlements while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Active adjuster license where applicable.
• Two years auto physical damage appraisal experience.
• Proficient in claims management and estimating software; strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle damage via on-site or virtual inspections.
• Review estimates and collaborate with shops for accuracy.
• Prepare repair estimates for parts, labor, and materials.
• Determine actual cash value (ACV) and settlements.
• Negotiate with shops, customers and third parties for fair resolutions.
• Identify pre‑existing damage and potential fraud indicators.
• Coordinate repairs with providers and resolve coverage issues.
• Provide excellent customer service and keep customers informed.
