Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking an Outside Auto Appraiser for a remote role in the United States. You will inspect vehicle damage, estimate repair costs, and determine actual cash value to settle claims, with on-site or virtual inspections at shops or customer locations.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s Degree, an active adjuster license where applicable, and two years of auto appraisal experience, plus proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent.
• Active adjuster license where applicable.
• Two years auto physical damage appraisal experience.
• Proficient in claims management and estimating software; strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and assess vehicle damage via on-site or virtual inspections at body shops or locations.
• Prepare accurate repair estimates using industry software for parts, labor and materials.
• Evaluate and settle total losses by determining actual cash value through market research.
• Negotiate repair costs and settlements with shops, customers and third parties.
• Document pre-existing damage and potential fraud indicators.
• Coordinate with vendors to authorize supplements and resolve issues.
• Explain appraisal process to customers and support timely claim resolution.
• Adapt to new technology implementations and digital tools.
