Job summary

Travelers is seeking an Outside Auto Appraiser to inspect damage, estimate repair costs, and determine actual cash value for total loss vehicles. This remote role supports auto claim staff and collaborates with repair facilities to ensure accurate settlements.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, an auto adjuster license where applicable, and at least two years of auto damage appraisal experience. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required or higher.
• Two years of auto physical damage appraisal experience.
• Active adjuster license, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle damage via on-site or virtual inspections at body shops or customer locations.
• Prepare repair estimates with standard estimating software.
• Determine ACV and settle total losses using market research.
• Negotiate repair costs with shops and customers to reach fair resolutions.
• Document pre-existing damage and potential fraud indicators to protect company interests.
