Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required for the role.
• Active adjuster license is required by Massachusetts rules.
• Two years of auto physical damage appraisal experience.
• Proficient in claims management and estimating software, including MS Office and enterprise systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication with excellent customer service.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement, manage multiple tasks, and stay composed under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle damage via on-site or virtual assessments at shops or customer locations.
• Review estimates, ensure accuracy and consistency, and collaborate with repair facilities.
• Prepare repair estimates for parts, labor, and materials to restore pre-loss condition.
• Evaluate total losses and determine actual cash value through market analysis.
• Negotiate costs and settlements with shops, customers, and third parties.
• Document pre-existing damage and potential fraud indicators to protect interests.
• Coordinate with claim staff, shops, and vendors to authorize supplements and resolve issues.
• Provide clear explanations of the appraisal process and keep claimants informed.
