Job summary

Travelers seeks an Outside Auto Appraiser to inspect vehicle damage, estimate repairs, and settle total losses. You’ll work with shops and customers, using standard estimating software to determine parts, labor, and materials while ensuring accuracy and quality.

The role requires a valid adjuster license where applicable, a bachelor’s degree, and at least two years of auto damage appraisal experience. This remote position offers mobile work with optional office presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher is required.
• Active adjuster license where applicable.
• Two years of auto physical damage appraisal experience.
• Proficient in claims management and estimating software, with Microsoft Office expertise.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and assess vehicle damage via on-site or virtual inspections.
• Prepare repair estimates using industry-standard software.
• Evaluate and settle total losses using ACV and market data.
• Negotiate repair costs and settlements with body shops and customers.
• Explain the appraisal process and keep owners informed throughout the claim.
• Collaborate with claims, shops, and vendors to coordinate repairs.
