Job summary

GAF is seeking an Asphalt Process Excellence Manager to lead multi-plant process improvements across asphalt yards, driving safety, efficiency, productivity and cost reductions. This leadership role collaborates with Corporate Engineering, Operations, Plant personnel, R&D, QA, third-party oxidizers, and Supply Chain.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with 10+ years in manufacturing and 5+ years in process engineering at multiple locations, plus

Qualifications

• Advanced communication skills across multiple levels of the organization (written, verbal, listening).
• Advanced analytical skills and data interpretation.
• Experience leading cross-plant initiatives and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Define, document, and implement Standards and Best Known Practices; deploy at plants.
• Lead Communities of Practice for knowledge sharing and troubleshooting.
• Identify cost savings and efficiency opportunities; reduce downtime and waste.
• Coordinate with internal/external experts to establish standards for plant systems.
• Collaborate with Corporate and Plants to adopt new technology solutions.
• Participate in safety initiatives (HAZOP) and implement resulting changes.
• Provide expertise, assign leads, and use Communities of Practice for quality issues.
• Apply structured problem solving and process improvement tools (SPC, 5-Why, A3, DOE).
• Set team priorities using plant metrics and data analytics.
• Lead change management to foster continuous improvement culture.
• Coach and mentor teams to build bench strength across the network.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
