Job summary

GAF is seeking an Asphalt Process Excellence Manager to lead multi-plant process improvements across asphalt yards, optimizing safety, efficiency, and costs. The role partners with Corporate Engineering, Operations, R&D, QA, and Supply Chain to drive standardization and best practices.

The position requires a strong engineering background, 10+ years in manufacturing, and 5+ years in process engineering with supervisory experience. Remote opportunity with 50% travel in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years manufacturing experience.
• 5+ years process engineering across multiple locations.
• Supervisory/project lead experience.
• Experience with web machine operation/design.
• Knowledge of roofing processes and ASTM Roofing Codes.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to influence cross-functional decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead team to define, document, and implement Engineering Standards and Best Practices across plants.
• Drive cost savings, efficiency improvements, and reduction of downtime and scrap.
• Collaborate with Corporate and plant teams to adopt new tech solutions.
• Provide expertise, assign leads, and use problem-solving tools (SPC, DOE, 5-Whys, A3, etc.).
• Guide change management and bench-strength development across the network.
• Mentor technical and process teams to build capabilities.
