Job summary

GAF is seeking an Asphalt Process Excellence Manager to lead multi-plant process improvements across oxidation operations. You will guide safety, efficiency, and cost reduction initiatives while coordinating with Corporate Engineering, Operations, R&D, QA, and Supply Chain.

The role requires a strong engineering background, 10+ years in manufacturing, and 5+ years in process engineering across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10+ years of demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 5+ years supporting process engineering at multiple locations.
• Supervisory experience or project management lead experience.
• Experience in continuous web machine operation or design.
• Knowledge of the roofing process and ASTM Roofing Codes.
• Advanced communications and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads the team to define, document, and implement standards and best practices across plants.
• Drives cross-plant knowledge sharing and troubleshooting to improve performance.
• Identifies cost savings and efficiency opportunities, reducing variability and downtime.
• Acts as point of contact for process and equipment experts to set standards.
• Collaborates with corporate teams to adopt new technology and drive safety improvements.
• Utilizes structured problem solving and data analysis tools to improve processes.
• Sets team priorities using plant metrics and data analytics.
• Leads change management to foster continuous improvement.
• Coaches and mentors teams to build bench strength.
