Job summary

Ingersoll Rand’s Welch Vacuum unit seeks an Area Sales Manager to lead Sales Engineering across the US West Coast, Mexico, and possibly South America. Significant travel (up to 50%) is required as you promote vacuum technologies to distributors, manufacturers, system integrators, and end users.

You will act as a technical advisor for OEMs and end users, guiding pump specifications and qualification in customer labs, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to win profitable growth.

Responsibilities

• Drive Business Growth: Expand market share using modern prospecting methods, toll-gate processes, and solution-selling methods.
• Manage & Acquire Accounts: Nurture distributors and pursue new opportunities with dealers, resellers, and OEMs.
• Provide Technical Support: Advise OEMs and end users on pump specs and lab testing requirements.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Field Sales Support, Application Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Finance, and Demand Gen.
• Lead Commercial Negotiations: Manage pricing, specs, and complex contracts.
• Build Multi-Level Relationships: Engage with engineering, purchasing, and leadership across accounts.
• Maintain Data Integrity: Ensure accurate forecasts and CRM data for growth planning.
• Apply Subject Matter Expertise: Leverage vacuum pump knowledge to promote Welch brand.
