Job summary

Welch Vacuum, a subsidiary of Ingersoll Rand, seeks an Area Sales Manager to lead the Sales Engineering function across the US West Coast, Mexico, and potentially South America. This remote role requires up to 75% travel and focuses on promoting diverse vacuum technologies to distributors, manufacturers, system integrators, and end-users.

You will drive solution-based selling in Life Sciences, Medical, Chemical, and General Manufacturing sectors with a strong emphasis on strategic relationships

Qualifications

• 3+ years of customer-facing vacuum sales experience with a growth track record.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, life sciences, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive business growth and expand market share with structured sales processes.
• Manage distributor base, pursue new distribution and OEM opportunities.
• Serve as trusted technical advisor to OEMs and large end-users in customer labs.
• Collaborate across functions to secure new business and profitable growth.
• Lead pricing negotiations and define technical specs for complex contracts.
• Build multi-level relationships with engineering, purchasing and leadership.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM data to support strategy.
• Apply vacuum pump knowledge to promote Welch brand to new customers.
