Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking an Area Sales Manager to lead the Sales Engineering function across the US West Coast, Mexico, and potentially South America. The role requires up to 75% travel and focuses on solution-selling to distributors, manufacturers, system integrators, and end-users in Life Sciences, Medical, Chemical, and General Manufacturing.

You will promote vacuum technologies and OEM components, engaging with customers and partners to drive strategic growth and sustained relationships.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or related technical field.
• 3+ years of customer-facing vacuum sales experience.
• Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive business growth by expanding market share and using structured sales processes.
• Manage and acquire accounts by nurturing distributors and pursuing new opportunities.
• Provide technical support as a trusted advisor to OEMs, end-users, and research institutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Support, Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Finance, and Demand Generation.
• Lead commercial negotiations, define specifications, and align complex agreements.
• Build multi-level relationships with engineering, purchasing, quality, and decision-makers.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM data to support growth.
• Leverage vacuum pump tech knowledge to promote Welch brand to new customers.
• Execute strategic agility and adapt to evolving business needs.
