Job summary

Ingersoll Rand's Welch Vacuum division seeks an Area Sales Manager to lead the Sales Engineering function for the US West Coast, Mexico, and potentially South America. This role requires up to 50% travel and focuses on selling vacuum pump technologies and OEM components to distributors, manufacturers, system integrators, and end-users across key sectors.

You will partner with internal teams to drive growth, manage distributors, and guide customers in Life Sciences, Medical, Chemical, and General

Qualifications

3+ years of customer-facing vacuum sales experience with a proven growth track record.
High School Degree or related technical field.
English fluency; Spanish a strong plus.

Responsibilities

Drive Business Growth: expand market share using structured toll-gate sales processes and solution-selling.
Manage & acquire accounts: nurture distributors, partner with dealer reps, pursue new opportunities.
Provide technical support: advise OEMs and end-users on pump specifications in customer labs.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Field Sales Support, Product Management, Operations, and Finance.
Lead commercial negotiations: manage pricing and define technical specs across agreements.
Build multi-level relationships with engineering, purchasing, quality and leadership.
Maintain data integrity: accurate sales forecasts and CRM reporting.
Apply subject matter expertise to promote Welch brand to new customers.
Execute strategic agility: support evolving business needs.
