Job summary

Chart Industries, Inc. is hiring an Application Engineer remote in the United States. This role serves as the primary technical resource for the field sales force, driving and managing the technical and commercial evaluation from inquiry to order.

You will work with sales and engineering to identify reliable solutions and ensure customer satisfaction through all sales stages. The ideal candidate has a BS in Engineering, 3+ years bidding/proposal experience for engineered equipment, and strong

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field.
• Experience bidding/proposal preparation for engineered equipment or systems.
• Ability to read and understand bid/proposal specifications, technical and commercial.
• Competent in reading P&IDs and technical drawings.
• Experience with API & ASME codes.
• Strong communication skills with internal/external stakeholders.
• Self-starter capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and develop proposals for centrifugal turbo-expanders, turbo-compressors, and related equipment.
• Perform technical review of specifications and rationalize requirements beyond standard scope/design.
• Perform calculations and product selections to meet process needs.
• Lead technical/commercial proposal discussions with customers to steer acceptance of proposed solutions.
• Drive internal proposal process across teams to ensure costs, resources, and scheduling are accounted for.
• Achieve KPIs such as bookings value, margins, OTD, and proposal pipeline.
• Promote safety procedures and PPE.
• Develop expert product knowledge and application.
• Articulate technology and product positioning to business and technical users.
• Provide design and specification support to consultants, integrators, and distributors.
• Respond to RFIs/RFPs and listen to customer requirements.
• Provide technical/product training for sales/estimators/engineers.
• Assist in design/development of new products/tools for target accounts.
• Maintain records in Salesforce and other approved databases.
• Resolve customer issues in line with company values.
• Maintain relationships with target accounts.
• Provide status of ongoing and future projects.
• Identify customer needs and sales opportunities.
