Job summary

Chart Industries, Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer to act as a primary technical resource for the field sales force, driving and managing technical and commercial evaluation from inquiry to order.

You will work with sales and engineering to identify reliable solutions for customer requirements and ensure satisfaction at all stages of the sales process. You will review specifications, perform calculations, develop proposals, and lead communications with customers to steer preferred

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field.
• Experience with centrifugal turbo-expander, turbo-compressor, or rotating equipment.
• Minimum 3 years bidding/proposal experience for engineered equipment or systems.
• Ability to read P&IDs and technical drawings.
• Experience with API & ASME codes.
• Familiarity with Gas Dynamics/Control/Electrical or Mechanical design is a plus.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Air Separation, or Power Generation.
• Strong communication with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications for technical and commercial requirements for new equipment projects and prepare competitive proposals.
• Perform technical reviews of specifications and identify requirements outside standard scope to meet specifications.
• Perform calculations and product selections to meet customer process needs.
• Collaborate with sales to present proposals and design concepts to customers and incorporate Voice of the Customer feedback.
• Lead the internal proposal process across cross-functional teams to ensure proposals cover costs, resources, scheduling, and legal needs.
• Achieve KPIs such as bookings value, margins, on-time delivery, and proposal pipeline.
• Assist in design and development of new products and tools to aid sales.
• Maintain records of accounts, opportunities, quotes, and projects in CRM.
