Job summary

ABB's ELSE organization in the U.S. seeks a seasoned Application Engineering Manager to lead the AE team in support of Commercial Operations and Sales.

You will drive customer-focused technical solutions through direct engagement and ensure high-quality SOWs and JCEs, while aligning with proposal management and other ABB engineering teams. You will build a high-performing team, advance processes, and improve proposal cycle times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Willingness to travel 25% within the US.
• 12+ years in application/field engineering in power delivery.
• 5+ years collaborating with oil & gas, metals, mining, data centers or similar sectors.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams.
• Experience with proposal development, SOW, and job costing.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing AE team.
• Provide technical leadership across the ELSE portfolio and engage customers.
• Drive proposal quality with SOWs and JCEs and improve ITO processes.
• Standardize engineering processes and drive KPI-based improvements.
