Job summary

ABB is seeking an Applications Engineering Manager for Electrification Services (ELSE) to lead the U.S. AE organization in support of Commercial Operations and Sales.

You will drive customer-focused technical solutions through direct engagement, ensure quality SOWs and JCEs, and grow a high-performing team. This remote leadership role requires 12+ years in the field, travel, and strong collaboration with cross-functional groups to standardize solutions and accelerate proposal cycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required with 12+ years of relevant work experience, Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time within US
• Minimum of 7 years in application/field engineering in power delivery products and systems, with 5+ years interacting with customers in relevant sectors
• Experience leading geographically dispersed technical teams
• Experience with proposal development, SOW creation, and commercial operations processes
• Background in field service, power systems engineering, or industrial electrical services
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing Application Engineering team by setting clear performance expectations and coaching.
• Provide technical leadership and customer solution support across the ELSE portfolio.
• Drive proposal excellence and improve ITO processes and cycle times with Commercial Operations.
• Standardize engineering processes and build training programs to raise capabilities.
