Job summary

Eaton Corporation’s Critical Power Projects team is seeking an Application Engineer for a fully remote role in the United States. The position includes travel up to 10% and offers a salary range of $86,000 to $126,000 per year, plus eligibility for a variable incentive program.

Responsibilities include interpreting project specifications, preparing technical proposals, leading cost-estimate development, and coordinating with multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Business with Engineering/Technical Experience plus 1 year of relevant experience in electrical contractor estimating, proposal writing, application engineering, or UPS systems.
• In lieu of degree, at least 3 years’ experience in electrical contractor estimating, proposal writing, or UPS system field experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and reside in the listed US states.
• Sponsorship restrictions apply; cannot sponsor immigration status.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project specifications and drawings and provide detailed responses for technical proposals and bid packages for UPS systems.
• Create proposals for projects under $2M and price sheets for management review.
• Lead the development and approval of cost estimates with the bid team.
• Serve as a technical liaison between customers, UPS plants, sales and project operations.
• Review proposals for correct Bill of Materials and content.
• Periodically visit customer sites to gather inputs for proposals; travel up to 10%.
• Assist project team with document management and milestone schedules.
