Job summary

Eaton Corporation’s Critical Power Projects team seeks an Application Engineer for a fully remote role in the United States. The position supports UPS systems and power distribution, with up to 10% travel. Salary ranges from $86,000 to $126,000 per year, plus eligibility for a variable incentive program.

You will develop technical proposals, lead cost estimates, and coordinate with Sales and Project Operations to ensure accurate, compliant bids and implementation planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Business with Engineering/Technical Experience.
• 3+ years experience in electrical contractor estimating or proposal writing or field work.
• Reside in KY, TN, NC, SC, MS, AL, GA, or FL; no relocation offered.
• Company cannot sponsor immigration for this role.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project specifications and drawings and respond with detailed proposals for UPS systems.
• Create proposals for projects under $2M and price sheets for management review.
• Lead cost-estimate development and obtain bid-team approvals.
• Serve as technical liaison to customers, plants, Sales, and Project Ops.
• Review proposals for correct Bill of Material and content.
• Visit customer sites to gather inputs for accurate proposals; travel up to 10%.
• Review orders on receipt to ensure accuracy and assist handoff with order summary.
• Maintain project/proposal documents and develop value schedules.
