Job summary

Eaton Corporation is seeking an Application Engineer for a fully remote role with up to 10% travel. You will support Sales with UPS-system proposals, develop cost estimates, and coordinate with project teams across various departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a Business degree with engineering/technical experience.
• 1 year of experience in electrical contractor estimating / proposal writing, application engineering on UPS and power distribution equipment.
• No relocation; candidate must reside in one of the listed states.
• Eaton will not sponsor immigration status for CPT/OPT/STEM OPT or other work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project specifications and drawings and provide detailed responses, including assisting Sales with technical proposals/bid packages for UPS Systems.
• Create proposals for projects under $2M and price sheets for management review.
• Lead the financial development and approval of cost estimates for proposals with bid team.
• Be a technical liaison for the Critical Power Projects business to Customers, UPS plants, Sales, and Project Operations groups.
• Review Critical Power Projects proposals for correct BOM and content.
• Periodically visit customer sites to review project details and gather technical inputs for accurate proposal recommendations (travel up to 10%).
• Review orders upon receipt to assure accuracy; interface with Project Execution for handoff and maintain project/proposal documents.
