Job summary

Lumen is seeking an API Technology Architect to lead API architecture, integration design, and customer enablement for automated service ordering and provisioning. This customer‑facing role blends hands‑on API work with documentation, training, and field support.

You will guide integration designs, work with account teams, and translate business needs into secure, reusable API solutions across multiple Lumen products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 10+ years in technical pre‑sales, solution/architecture, API or integration architecture, or telecom engineering.
• Experience leading technical discovery and translating requirements into designs.
• Experience with API authentication/authorization (OAuth 2.0, tokens, credentials).
• Strong written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills for diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple customer engagements and enablement deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead API architecture and customer integration efforts with customers and account teams.
• Document integration patterns, including API dependencies, authentication, and operational considerations.
• Collaborate with Technology Architects to align API strategy across products.
• Lead customer workshops, architecture discussions, and technical demonstrations.
• Create and maintain API enablement resources and educational content.
