Job summary
Lumen is seeking an API Technology Architect to be a customer-facing technical specialist within the SWAT team, leading API-focused discovery, guiding integration designs, and translating business requirements into secure, reusable API‑driven solutions for enterprise and government customers.
The role also involves enabling Technical Sellers with documentation, training, field support, and product advocacy, while partnering with Product and Engineering to improve API resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
- 10+ years in technical pre-sales, solution architecture, API/integration architecture, or related.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical designs.
- Experience with API authentication/authorization concepts including OAuth 2.0 and secure handling of secrets.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills for diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead API architecture and customer integration discovery and design.
- Collaborate with cross-portfolio tech architects to align API strategies.
- Engage with customers and Technical Sellers through workshops, demos, and reviews.
- Create API enablement resources and coordinate with product/engineering for better resources.
