Job summary

Lumen is seeking an API Technology Architect to lead API-focused discovery, design secure integrations, and enable technical sellers. You will architect customer integrations, document patterns, and advise on cross-portfolio API strategy to streamline deployments across multiple Lumen products.

The role involves hands-on API architecture, customer workshops, and knowledge transfer through design guides and trainings. Travel may be required, and compensation includes a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in technical pre-sales, solution architecture, API or integration architecture, software or platform consulting, network automation, or telecommunications engineering.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical discovery and translating customer requirements into clear designs.
• Knowledge of API authentication/authorization concepts, including OAuth 2.0, tokens, credentials, scopes, and secure handling of secrets.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead API architecture and customer integration efforts, documenting integration patterns and security considerations.
• Collaborate with technology architects and domain specialists across product boundaries.
• Engage with customers and Technical Sellers via workshops, architecture discussions, demos, and onboarding calls.
• Create and maintain API enablement resources and coordinate with product management and documentation teams.
