Job summary

Lumen, a leading provider of AI-ready connectivity, seeks an API Technology Architect to drive API architecture, integration, and enablement across multiple products. The role is client-facing and involves discovery, designs, and troubleshooting of complex API-driven solutions.

You will lead customer engagements, develop reference architectures, and partner with product teams to improve API usability and documentation while enabling Technical Sellers through education and workshops.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 10+ years in technical pre-sales, solution architecture, API or integration architecture, or telecom engineering.
• Experience translating business and technical requirements into clear designs.
• Knowledge of API authentication/authorization concepts including OAuth 2.0 and handling of secrets.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead API architecture and customer integration efforts, documenting patterns and security considerations.
• Collaborate with technology architects and specialists when requirements cross boundaries.
• Guide API and automation strategy across multiple Lumen products.
• Deliver workshops, demos, and onboarding sessions; assist Technical Sellers as needed.
