Job summary

Lumen is seeking an API Technology Architect to be a customer‑facing technical specialist on the SWAT team. You will drive API discovery, design integrations, and guide security‑first API solutions across multiple Lumen products for enterprise and government clients.

You will lead workshops and provide enablement resources, documentation, and training to Technical Sellers and engineers, ensuring scalable, secure, and reusable API‑driven solutions. Travel may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering/IS/Telecom or related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in technical pre‑sales, solution architecture, API/integration architecture, or related areas.
• Experience leading technical discovery and translating requirements into designs.
• Knowledge of API authentication/authorization (OAuth 2.0, tokens, credentials, scopes, secret handling).
• Strong written, verbal and facilitation skills for diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple customer engagements and deliver enablement artifacts.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with customers and account teams to define automation goals and success metrics.
• Architect and document customer integration patterns including API dependencies and security considerations.
• Collaborate across teams to form an API/automation strategy across multiple products.
• Lead workshops, architecture discussions, demos, integrations reviews, and onboarding calls.
• Create API enablement resources and partner with product/documentation teams to improve usability and consistency.
