Job summary

Lumen is seeking an API Technology Architect to be a customer-facing technical specialist on the SWAT team. You will drive API architecture, integration patterns, and enablement across multiple products, while guiding technical discovery and helping customers design secure, scalable API-driven solutions.

You will lead workshops, provide field support to Technical Sellers, and collaborate with product management and API platforms to improve documentation, examples, and reference architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 10+ years in technical pre-sales, solution/api architecture, integration, or telecom engineering.
• Experience leading technical discovery and translating requirements into designs.
• Knowledge of API authentication concepts including OAuth 2.0 and secure handling of secrets.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across developers, sales, product, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead API architecture and customer integration efforts, documenting patterns and security considerations.
• Collaborate across Technology Architects when requirements cross product boundaries to form a coherent API strategy.
• Engage with customers and Technical Sellers in workshops, architecture discussions, and enablement sessions.
• Create and maintain API enablement resources and partner with product and development teams to improve usability and discoverability.
