Job summary

Charter Impact, a remote-first organization, seeks an Accounts Payable Associate to work with our national client base from any eligible location, including CT. The role involves accurate AP processing, vendor file maintenance, and collaboration with clients to resolve issues.

The position offers a base hourly rate and potential discretionary bonus, with emphasis on attention to detail, professionalism, and customer service. Experience with Excel and non-profit accounting systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Accounts payable experience is preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and knowledge of accrual accounting.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounts payable duties with accuracy and timeliness.
• Verify availability of cash and perform payment selections.
• Code invoices to correct general ledger accounts and maintain vendor files.
• Generate AP aging reports for clients as needed.
• Notify clients of discrepancies and ensure follow-ups.
• Resolve inquiries from clients and multiple entities via email/phone.
• Prepare use tax reports and assist in audits.
• Contribute to process improvements for clients using current tech.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, public administration, or related field
