Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Analyst I in Risk & Analytics to apply data analytics to optimize product risk and portfolio performance across consumer lending. You will write SQL and Python, derive actionable insights, and partner with product, legal and compliance to implement data models and policies.

You will monitor macro trends, support new product launches, and integrate AI tooling like Cursor and Claude Code to accelerate analysis while maintaining rigorous verification and governance.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in an analytically-driven role; internships valued.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, CS, Engineering, Economics).
• Strong SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Experience with data mining, data visualization, and statistics.
• Familiarity with lending regulations and ML applications.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Derive insights & support strategy to optimize product, risk, or growth strategies.
• Monitor portfolio health by tracking performance metrics and macro trends.
• Technical execution with SQL and Python; partner with Engineering on models.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Product, Legal, and Compliance.
• Support launch alignment with operational capabilities and risk appetite.
• AI fluency: integrate AI tools to accelerate data mining and routine tasks.
