Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Analyst I in Risk & Analytics to learn consumer lending fundamentals while executing analytical tasks daily. You will leverage SQL and Python to produce scalable reporting, monitor portfolio health, and partner with Engineering on ML deployment.

You'll work with cross-functional teams across Product, Legal, and Compliance to translate regulations into data models, supporting market entries and risk management.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in an analytically-driven role; internships or experience in consumer lending/fintech valued.
• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or related quantitative field.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with data mining, data visualization, and foundational statistical modeling.
• Basic understanding of consumer lending regulations, fair lending principles, and ML applications to business problems.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional peers.

Responsibilities

• Derive insights and support strategy to optimize product, risk, or growth strategies across geographies.
• Monitor portfolio health by tracking performance metrics, user behavior, and macro trends.
• Technical execution: write clean SQL and Python; partner with Engineering to support ML and risk model deployment.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Compliance to translate regulations into data models and policies.
• Drive launch alignment to ensure new products and market entries fit operational capabilities and risk appetite.
• Demonstrate AI fluency by integrating tools to accelerate data mining and routine tasks.
