Job summary

Affirm is hiring an Analyst I to learn consumer lending fundamentals while performing scoped analytical tasks. Under guidance from senior analysts, you will use advanced data analytics to optimize business strategies and monitor portfolio performance.

You are motivated to build a strong technical foundation and to adapt to exogenous market changes with AI tooling. You will work with cross-functional teams to understand evolving lending regulations and translate them into actionable data models

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of analytical experience in fintech or financial services.
• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL and Python; familiar with data mining and data visualization.

Responsibilities

• Derive insights and support strategy by analyzing data to optimize product, risk, or growth strategies across geographies.
• Monitor portfolio health by tracking performance metrics, user behavior, and macroeconomic trends.
• Perform technical execution by writing clean SQL and Python and partnering with Engineering to deploy ML and risk models.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Compliance to translate regulations into data models and policies.
• Support cross-functional launches and market entries to align with capabilities and risk appetite.
• Integrate AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, copilots) to accelerate data mining and routine tasks.
