Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Analyst I to learn consumer lending fundamentals while performing scoped analytics and supporting business decisions. You’ll work under senior analysts to optimize strategies, monitor portfolio performance, and build technical foundations for scalable insights.

You will use SQL and Python to develop reporting, collaborate with Product, Legal, and Compliance, and apply AI tools to improve efficiency while maintaining rigorous validation of results.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in an analytically-driven role; fintech or financial services experience valued.
• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or related quantitative field.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with data mining, data visualization, and foundational statistical modeling.
• Basic understanding of consumer lending regulations and how ML applies to business problems.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Derive insights and support strategy across product, risk, or growth initiatives.
• Monitor portfolio health by tracking metrics and macro trends; flag risks to seniors.
• Write clean SQL and Python to build scalable reporting and support ML/risk model deployment with Engineering.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Compliance to translate regulations into data models and policies.
• Assist in aligning new launches and market entries with operational capabilities and risk appetite.
• Integrate AI tools to accelerate data mining and routine tasks while verifying outputs.
