Job summary

Handshake is seeking a Support Specialist, Contractor to assist our employer, student, and career services users. This 6-month contract may extend or convert based on fit.

You will deliver strategic email, phone, and video support for customers ranging from small to marquee brands such as Google and Amazon. Work 40 hours a week, mainly during business hours, handling tickets, calls, and collaboration with Support, Success, and Product teams.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn technical tools quickly.
• Comfort with change and ambiguity.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Success, Support, Product and Engineering.
• Based in the U.S. and not a current student.

Responsibilities

• Resolve questions, bugs, feedback, and general inquiries (40 hours per week).
• Ticket volume: ~20–30 email tickets per day.
• Phone volume: ~10 calls during a 4-hour daily shift.
• Attend team meetings (1–3 per week).
• Complete administrative tasks (emails, announcements, training).
• Provide tailored, personal responses while building relationships with users.
