Job summary

Handshake is looking to bring on a Support Specialist, Contractor to provide support to our employer, student, and career services users. This 6-month contract may extend or convert to a permanent role based on fit.

This is a technical enterprise support role: you’ll provide strategic email, phone, and video support, troubleshoot complex workflows, and build relationships with customers from startups to brands like Google, Amazon, and Cornell University.

Qualifications

• Location: US-based remote work eligible within specified states.
• Technical aptitude: ability to learn technical tools and concepts quickly.
• Resilience: comfortable with change and ambiguity.
• Teamwork: collaborate with Support and cross-functional teams.
• Communication: excellent verbal and written communication; explain complex topics clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide amazing email and phone support to Handshake customers via internal ticketing systems.
• Resolve questions, bugs, feedback, and general inquiries; manage 20–30 email tickets per day and 10 calls in a 4-hour window.
• Attend team meetings and complete administrative tasks.
• Unblock users, share trends with Support, Success, and Product teams, and improve experiences.
